The beginning of her story...
Barker was collected as an egg from the RSPB Nene Washes in April 2019.

Back to the wild...
One of the oldest birds, Barker was released with her three siblings - Coventina, Boston and Natura - and 17 other headstarted birds at Lady Fen, WWT Welney on 17 June 2019, the first release of that year.

And her story continues...
May 2020. Barker is back at the Ouse Washes, at the RSPB Pilot Project.
June 2020. Barker is spotted at different locations on the Ouse Washes.
April 2021: Barker is back at the RSPB Pilot Project.

How was she named?
Barker
is an old name for a godwit, along with blackwit, whelp, yarwhelp, shrieker and Jadreka snipe!
