The beginning of her story...
March's egg was collected from the RSPB Nene Washes in April 2017, and hatched at WWT Welney on 8 May 2017.

Back to the wild...
March was released on 12 June 2017 alongside 24 other young godwits, including her siblings Tipps, Lil and Wicken.

And her story continues...
February 2020. After not being seen for over two years, March is spotted in the Tagus Estuary, Portugal.
March 2020.
She is reported from Landje v Geijsel in the Netherlands.
April-June 2020. March spends the summer back in the UK, at WWT Welney.
July 2020. She has flown back to the Netherlands and is seen at Polder Zeevang.

How was she named?
March was named after the Fenland market town of March in the Isle of Ely area of Cambridgeshire, England. March is just about midway between the Nene and Ouse Washes.
