Migration Map
The map below shows the locations of the project sites and the sites where godwits colour-marked by the project have been re-sighted. Locations are approximate. Don't forget to send us your sightings!
Godwits are known to undertake long and often complex migratory journeys. Re-sightings of colour-marked birds provide invaluable information about the remarkable journeys these birds undertake. We are very grateful to all the observers who work tirelessly in the field to spot the tiny coloured flags and rings and report them to us. Many of the sightings from outside the UK are provided by a dedicated team of ring readers from the Netherlands whose work is funded by the University of Groningen and the Global Flyway Network project. Find out more about their important work on global flyways and godwits here.
