The beginning of her story...
Carr was collected as an egg from the RSPB Nene Washes in April 2019.

Back to the wild...
Carr was released with her three siblings - Swampy, Marsh and Copernicus - and 8 other headstarted birds at Lady Fen, WWT Welney on 24 June 2019, the last release of that year.

And her story continues...
November 2019. Carr is seen near Ndioum in Senegal.

How was she named?
Carr was named by the project team, one of three birds named after wetland types in 2019 - the other two being Marsh and Swampy. A carr is a wet woodland or an area of fen where small trees and shrubs grow, often the intermediate stage between a marsh or fen and forest.
