The beginning of his story...
Mo's egg was collected from arable farmland near the RSPB Nene Washes in April 2018, one of the 'muddy eggs' we feared wouldn't survive. He hatched on 18 May, making him one of the oldest birds of the year.

Back to the wild...
Mo was released with the largest group of 2018, including his three siblings: Mopsy, Morgan and Myrtle. With 17 other godwits, they were released on Lady Fen at WWT Welney on 19 June.

And his story continues...
May 2020. After no sightings for almost two years, Mo is spotted back at WWT Welney.                                                                                                                   June 2020. Mo is spotted at RSPB Ouse Washes.

How was he named?
Mo is named after Mo Farah on the suggestion of Yvonne Henwood when we asked for name ideas on social media in spring 2018.
