The beginning of her story...
Lady's egg was collected from the RSPB Nene Washes in April 2017, and hatched on 11 May at WWT Welney.

Back to the wild...
Lady was released into the wild on Lady Fen alongside 24 other young godwits on 12 June. She was released with her brothers Delph and Manea.

And her story continues...
July 2017. She is seen at RSPB Old Hall Marshes, alongside her brother Manea.
February 2018. She is spotted at two sites near the Tagus River in Portugal.
March 2018. She's seen near the Charante River in France.
May 2018. She returns to her release site, WWT Welney's Lady Fen and is seen on the Ouse Washes. It looks like she has paired up with Nelson.
June 2018. She's seen again at the Ouse Washes and also at Dunkirk, near Ely.

Where is Lady spending the autumn and winter? Will she return to Lady Fen in 2019?

How was she named?
Lady was named after the beautiful Lady Fen, a wet grassland site created adjacent to the Ouse Washes and the project's primary release site. Lady Fen is part of the WWT Welney reserve.
